The Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra is pleased to host the 55th Linguistic Symposium on Romance Languages (LSRL55), with a special focus on Linguistics Caribbean Spanish (LEC), September 10-12, 2025, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Linguistic Symposium on Romance Languages (LSRL) is an annual conference focused on theoretical and empirical linguistics applied to all Romance languages and Latin from the different linguistic approaches, both empirical and theoretical. The conference will have a special focus on Caribbean Spanish with concurrent sessions in Spanish. We invite abstracts for consideration of conventional talks (20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion) and/or poster presentations on any aspect of Romance linguistics.

CALL FOR PAPERS
We invite presentations on all aspects of Romance linguistics that include but are not limited to, synchronic and diachronic approaches to theoretical and empirical linguistics, language acquisition and/or processing, sociolinguistics, language contact, bilingualism with Romance languages, syntax, morphology, phonology, phonetics, pragmatics, semantics, and computational linguistics.
All abstracts should be anonymous, with a maximum of 450 words plus references and figures. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract or two joint abstracts per author. Abstracts and papers must be in English for the LSRL sessions or in Spanish for the Caribbean Spanish sessions.
Proposal submission extended until April 21st, 2025. All should be submitted through:
